Nov 22 — Ana's abstract, "Harnessing Sleeping Beauty transposon mutagenesis to model tumor heterogeneity in melanoma preclinical models" Contreras-Sandoval AM and Mann MB, was selected for an oral presentation at the Society for Melanoma Research 16th International Congress, Salt Lake City, UT. Congratulations to Ana on this achievement and for being selected for a travel award!

Nov 6 — Michael presented a Keynote "Harnessing Genomics for Future Cancer Care" by an American Cancer Society Funded Moffitt Cancer Center Researcher at The New Wave of Cancer Research and Treatment Luncheon hosted by the American Cancer Society and Dr. James J. Vopal, DDS, MD, FACS.

Oct 16 — Ana presents a talk "Harnessing Sleeping Beauty transposon mutagenesis to study resistance in melanoma" at the Department of Molecular Oncology Research In Progress Seminar Series.

Oct 14 — Lab poster presentations at the 2019 Cancer Biology & Evolution Symposium at Moffitt Cancer Center: 1) Meshey AL, Contreras-Sandoval AM, Newberg JY, Mann KM, and Mann MB. Enhancing quantitative Sleeping Beauty transposon capture sequencing for driver gene discovery in human cancer SB-GEMMs; 2) Aiderus A, Meshey AL and Mann MB. Jun 26 — Aziz presents a talk "Identifying drivers of keratinocyte transformation and cutaneous squamous cell carcinoma progression" at the Department of Molecular Oncology Research In Progress Seminar Series.

Jun 13-14 — Michael served as moderator of the break out session “Screening for new vulnerabilities”, and presented on the novel applications of SB for Florida Collaborative Research, at the 2019 Annual Florida Academic Cancer Center Alliance (FACCA) Research Retreat held at the JW Marriott Miami, in Miami, FL.

May 9 — Michael and collaborators Karen Mann, PhD (Molecular Oncology), Philipp Altrock, PhD (Integrated Mathematical Oncology) and Eric Padron, MD (Malignant Hematology) were awarded a Moffitt Cancer Center 2019 Team Science Early Development Award to study latent therapeutic vulnerabilities in myeloid leukemia using integrated animal and mathematical modeling.

May 8–10 — Lab oral and poster presentations at the 77th Annual Society for Investigative Dermatology Meeting in Chicago, IL. 1) Contreras-Sandoval AM and Mann MB. Harnessing Sleeping Beauty transposon mutagenesis to model tumor heterogeneity in melanoma preclinical models was selected for an Oral presentation within the Concurrent Mini-Symposium 6: Interdisciplinary Spotlight on Disease Models and Poster presentation in Carcinogenesis and Cancer Genetics. 2) Muradova E, Ojeda S, Sell B, Mann MB, Patel N, and Tsai KY. Novel method for non-invasive assessment of molecular markers of UV exposure in normal skin was selected for an Oral presentation within the Oral presentation within the Concurrent Mini-Symposium 7: Carcinogenesis and Cancer Genetics.

Reduced expression of chromatin remodeling pathway genes drives cutaneous SCC initiation and progression. 2) Contreras-Sandoval AM and Mann MB. Aug 24 — With mixed emotions the Mann Labs said goodbye to Justin today as he moves on to the next stage in his computational oncology career as a Scientist at Foundation Medicine in Boston. Best of luck, Justin!
